A: We used the name "The Dentists Dental Lab, LLC." because it was set up by a group of dentists for the benefit of dentists. We like to run this company similar to a mutual company in the sense that it is owned by its customers (in this case: dentists). We will operate it in the best interest of dentists and we are committed to quality control and reasonable fees.
Q: 2. How did you choose a dental lab that you outsource your work to?
A: We beta tested many labs in and near Hong Kong by sending our own lab cases to them and we checked the quality and service of each lab. We have narrowed it down to one main lab where we send most of our cases to. I used to work with this lab when I practiced dentistry in Hong Kong and it has evolved over the years to become one of the premium dental lab in the region. Our dentist partner in Hong Kong has worked with this lab for many years and has been getting high quality products with fast turn around time.
Q: 3. What is your average turn around time?
A: Our average turn around time is ten days. To be safe we usually schedule our patients in two weeks.
Q: 4. Can I send you all my lab cases since you are a full service lab?
A: Yes, you can send all your lab cases to us but we recommend that you maintain a good relationship with a local lab because in certain situation your local lab may be able to handle those cases better. For example: certain esthetic cases where the patients have hard to match shades which is difficult to describe by shade mapping on lab slip or by computer/photo image. In this case the patients should be advised to go to the local labs to have their shades taken. Another situation is if the patient needs full denture in a hurry it is better to have a local lab set up teeth and try in so the denture can be made faster. We suggest you send some of you work to us and some of your work to your local labs so that you can maintain a good relationship and control what is best for your patient and what is best for your bottom line.

A: The main difference is this lab is owned by dentists who use the lab to fabricate dental prosthesis that they put in their patients' mouth. If a crown comes back with contact too tight or shade too dark we are the first ones to know and we will communicate with our lab to correct that right away. We make sure we get the best quality dental product with a reasonable price. We are in the processes of hiring a quality control person in Hong Kong to oversee that all the dental lab works being sent back to us meet our highest standard.
